Governance and leadership

The �ǿմ�ý (�ǿմ�ý) is governed by the �ǿմ�ý Executive Board, which consists of 36 Member States and provides intergovernmental support, direction and supervision of activities.

�ǿմ�ý is headed by an Executive Director, who is appointed jointly by the UN Secretary-General and the Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. The Executive Director is appointed for fixed five-year terms and is responsible for the administration of �ǿմ�ý as well as the implementation of its programmes, projects and other activities. Since 1 June 2026, the post has been held by Carl Skau on an acting basis.

�ǿմ�ý also has one Deputy Executive Director and three Assistant Executive Directors.

Senior leadership

Carl Skau - Acting Executive Director, Deputy Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer: Carl Skau is the Acting Executive Director of the �ǿմ�ý (�ǿմ�ý), appointed by United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to serve as interim head of �ǿմ�ý until the designation of its next Executive Director.
Rania Dagash-Kamara - Assistant Executive Director, Partnerships and Innovation: Rania Dagash-Kamara leads the organization��s engagement and resource mobilization activities with global partners, international financial institutions and programme countries. She also oversees �ǿմ�ý��s expanding work in innovation.
Stephen Omollo - Assistant Executive Director, Workplace and Management: Stephen Omollo is �ǿմ�ý's Assistant Executive Director for Workplace and Management. In this role, he leads the Department overseeing human resources, management services, security, technology and the promotion of wellness. Stephen is also passionate about ensuring the duty of care for all personnel, fostering a safe, inclusive and healthy work environment.
Matthew Hollingworth - Assistant Executive Director, Programme Operations: Matthew Hollingworth is �ǿմ�ý��s Assistant Executive Director for Programme Operations. In this role, he leads �ǿմ�ý��s work in assessment and analysis, programme and policy design, and supply chain to ensure �ǿմ�ý delivers on its mandate of saving lives and changing lives.
Ally-Raza Qureshi - Chief Financial Officer a.i.: Ally-Raza Qureshi is �ǿմ�ý's Chief Financial Officer ad interim. A national of Pakistan, Mr. Qureshi brings to this role more than twenty?three years of distinguished service with �ǿմ�ý, supported by a professional background spanning the humanitarian, development, and private sectors. He began his career as a Chartered Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers before transitioning to international humanitarian work in 2001.
